Bio Farma Has Received 15 Million Doses of CoronaVac from a Total of 25 Million Doses in August

Indonesia has received as additional 7.5 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. This addition comes from multi-producers with bilateral schemes or through dose-share assistance from friendly countries. The vaccines are AstraZeneca, aided by the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the amount of 450 thousand doses in the form of a finish product, and from the producer Pfizer as many as 1.5 million doses with a direct purchase scheme from the Indonesian government.
In addition to the two schemes, Indonesia also received additional Covid-19 vaccines with a bilateral scheme between Bio Farma and Covid-19 vaccine producers from Sinovac and AstraZeneca. Sinovac sent five million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in the form of a finished product, and AstraZeneca as many as 567 thousand doses of the finish product which also arrived in Indonesia on August 20, 2021. So that since the beginning of this August, Indonesia has received as many as 22,792. 480 doses of finished vaccines from various brands other than Sinovac, such as AstraZeneca, Moderna to Pfizer.
The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, said in a virtual press conference that the arrival of an additional 450,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine tonight is one of the results of the hard work and diplomatic efforts of the Indonesian government. The arrival of this vaccine is part of Indonesia's cooperation with the Netherlands to bring three million doses of vaccine to Indonesia through a bilateral cooperation mechanism, the dose-sharing mechanism.
"Therefore, on behalf of the Government of Indonesia, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Government of the Netherlands for the support of the vaccine dose sharing that has been given, as well as even closer cooperation in the future," he said.
Thus, after the arrival of four types of vaccines for the government vaccine program and 1 type of vaccine for the mutual cooperation vaccination program, the number of Covid-19 vaccines that have been secured by Indonesia is 197.6 million doses, consisting of 47.9 million doses in in the form of a finish product, and in bulk form as many as 144.7 million doses.
Corporate Secretary and spokesperson for Bio Farma, Bambang Heriyanto said, for vaccines with a bilateral scheme with Sinovac, Bio Farma will get 25 million doses until the end of August 2021.
"Today (20/8) Bio Farma again received the Covid-19 vaccine, from Sinovac, AstraZeneca assistance from the Kingdom of the Netherlands and AstraZeneca bilaterally in the form of a finish product. From Sinovac there are five million doses, and from AstraZeneca, both from the Kingdom of the Netherlands and bilaterally, there are 450 thousand doses and 567 thousand doses, respectively," said Bambang.
For the Covid-19 Vaccine from Sinovac, previously on August 13, 2021 and August 16, 2021, Bio Farma had already received five million doses of this vaccine. Thus, the number of vaccines from Sinovac in finish product packaging from Sinovac has received 15 million doses of the 25 million doses that Bio Farma will receive until the end of August 2021.
"The next arrival is planned for August 23, 2021 and August 27, 2021, each with five million doses, so that by the end of August 2021, 25 million doses will be sent to Bio Farma," said Bambang.
The number of distributed Covd-19 vaccines, as of August 19, 2021, is 111.84 million doses, consisting of three million doses of Corconvac, Covid-19 Bio Farma, 85.9 million doses, AstraZeneca with the Covax scheme, bilateral and grant 15.3 million doses, Moderna 7.5 million doses.
For the stock of the Covid-19 vaccine at Bio Farma itself, there are 11.8 million doses consisting of 1.8 million doses that have been released, and 10 million doses of CoronaVac awaiting release. With the addition of 5 million doses of CoronaVac today, it will certainly increase the stock of Covid-19 vaccines to around 16.8 million doses.
In addition, for the month of August, there will be an additional 8.4 million doses of Bio Farma Covid-19 vaccine stock, and in September there will be an additional 23.3 million doses of Bio Farma Covid-19 vaccine. Bambang continued, the vaccines received will be distributed to 34 provinces in Indonesia, after passing the quarantine period and sampling process and getting a lot release from the Indonesia National Food and Drug Agency.
